Biography An Artist for the People Vance grew up in Reedsport, Oregon around the forest industry and started out carving clocks, tables, and more from Myrtlewood for stores and galleries. Vance opened his first gallery and woodshop on the corner or Main Street and Winchester in 1993. Vance continued carving and chainsaw sculptures for almost 10 years. Reedsport is the Chainsaw Sculpting Capital of Oregon ! Vance started doing custom carvings in Central Oregon from tree stumps, moved to Central Oregon in 2000 and built a shop and store on North Highway 97 in Redmond. He started building Juniper furniture, lamps, table, benches, mantles, signs and custom projects. His carvings are in local RV Parks, Hotels, Restaurants, and many many local front yards. He now has 4 buildings of finished art pieces and works in the process. All of Vance’s carvings in Western Red Cedar and Redwood are sanded, polished and vanished. Stop in and get the full tour of our Showroom and Woodshop. You will be amazed.
